Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026

1. Who we are

Ontario Clean Energy ("we", "us") helps Ontario homeowners access energy-efficiency rebates. This policy explains how we handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

2. Information we collect

Information you provide: name, email, phone number, home address, postal code, home and heating details, and information you submit through our website, phone calls, or lead forms on Facebook and Instagram.

Information collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and referring ads, collected through cookies and similar technologies, including the Meta Pixel.

3. How we use your information

To contact you about your inquiry, assess rebate eligibility, provide quotes and services, help submit rebate applications, send communications you have consented to, measure and improve our advertising, and meet legal obligations.

4. Facebook, Instagram and Meta advertising

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. If you submit a Meta lead form, Meta shares the information you entered with us, and we use it only to respond to your request.

Our website may use the Meta Pixel and Conversions API. These tools let Meta and us measure ad effectiveness and show relevant ads to people who visited our site. Meta may collect or receive information from our website and other sites and use it to provide measurement services and targeted ads, as described in Meta's Privacy Policy (facebook.com/privacy/policy).

You can control the ads you see through your Facebook Ad Preferences (facebook.com/adpreferences), opt out of interest-based advertising at youradchoices.ca or optout.aboutads.info, and block or delete cookies in your browser.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send sensitive information (such as health or financial account data) to Meta.

5. Sharing your information

We share information only with: rebate program administrators (when you ask us to apply on your behalf), installation partners and subcontractors, service providers (hosting, email, CRM, advertising platforms), and authorities when required by law. All service providers must protect your information.

6. Consent and marketing

By submitting your information you consent to its use as described here. We send marketing emails or texts only with your consent, and every message includes a way to unsubscribe. You may withdraw consent at any time.

7. Retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and protect it with reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards. Some service providers may store data outside Canada, where it may be subject to local laws.

8. Your rights and data deletion

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, including data received through Facebook or Instagram lead ads. Email admin@ontariocleanenergy.com with the subject "Data Deletion Request" and we will respond within 30 days. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

9. Children

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The "last updated" date shows the latest version.
